Guardians of the Word

Today the Bible is under attack like never before. Its history and authenticity are being challenged by both secularists and the religious. How we can be sure that our present-day Bibles are the same as written by the original writers? Guardians of the Word begins with a brief a brief summary of how the Bible came to us. This reinforces the conviction that the Bible we read today can be trusted. The Bible is God's Word for all people. It is God who instigated the diversity of languages. His plan for salvation and Christian growth encompasses "every tribe and tongue." Amazingly, God has chosen ordinary people to carry out the extraordinary task of translating the Scriptures into every language in the world. The second section of Guardians of the Word presents inspiring biographies of some of the key Bible translators throughout the world-Wycliffe, Tyndale, Hudson Taylor, Cameron Townsend, and others. In the last section, the reader will learn how modern technology is greatly accelerating the completion of the goal to make the Bible readable, understandable, and available in every language. By way of response, there is a call to honor this miraculous Word of God by reading it, obeying it, and sharing it; as well as suggestions on how we might honor guardians of the Word.
