En savoir plus sur le livre

The Palliative Turn Number 1 focuses on the activities of the Association for the Palliative Turn (APT), established around 2019 or 2020. This initiative advocates for a significant shift in our approach to art and culture, drawing inspiration from palliative medicine and care. APT comprises a diverse group of professionals, primarily visual artists, alongside a climate scientist, kinesiologist, palliative practitioner, philosopher, doctor, and comedian, all identifying as ‘palliatively curious.’ Their curiosity has led to an APT symposium, two major group exhibitions, and various discussions and events, culminating in this publication. The pages feature reflections on the Palliative Turn through essays, reports on APT activities, exercises, comics, jokes, and thought experiments. This inaugural issue was developed in conjunction with the exhibition and events at Künstlerhaus Bremen, documenting APT’s progress and showcasing contributions from its members. These contributions were gathered through an open call and curated by an editorial team that includes Simon Blanck, Kasia Fudakowski, Teal Griffin, and others. Featured contributors include Louise Ashcroft, Monika M. Beyer, Annemarie Goldschmidt, and many more, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the APT community.
