The automotive industry is undergoing significant transformation due to trends like E-Mobility and self-driving technologies, necessitating adaptations in the development of new vehicles and mobility solutions. This presents challenges, given the industry's strict quality and safety standards, the intricate interplay between hardware and software, and the emphasis on development processes and supplier collaboration. Traditionally, software product lines have been employed to manage the extensive software in vehicles through reuse, yet there is limited understanding of how to adapt flexibly to rapid changes using this approach. Agile software development methods offer a potential solution for more responsive development processes. Research through interviews, workshops, and literature reviews highlighted the need to integrate agile practices with software product lines in automotive software development. The thesis identifies factors that either facilitate or impede the adoption of agile methodologies in this sector. A key objective was to create a framework to assist organizations in implementing agile software product lines, resulting in the Agile Software Product Lines in Automotive Model (ASPLA Model). This model identifies areas for improvement and offers prioritized recommendations for merging agile practices with software product lines. It is compatible with the widely-used ASPICE model and includes empirically-based sug
