En savoir plus sur le livre

Recently, the European Union has struggled with a lack of comprehensive discourse about its future, leading to significant challenges such as Brexit and the rise of right-wing nationalist movements. Despite this, Europe has a rich history of openness, creativity, and innovation, demonstrating its capacity for reinvention. Given current global challenges and geopolitical shifts, a new phase of innovation is essential. This anthology, contributed by the Austrian Council for Research and Technology Development, aims to advance the common European project. The articles outline strategies for fostering a competitive, dynamic, knowledge-based society and economy, emphasizing innovation as a growth engine, successful digital transformation, social cohesion, and sustainable development. It explores ideas for the social, economic, digital, and ecological renewal of the EU, while considering the roles of education, science, research, and innovation. The Council serves as an advisory body to the Austrian Government on policies related to education, science, research, technology, and innovation, striving to provide independent, evidence-based contributions for informed and effective policy-making focused on future challenges.
