En savoir plus sur le livre

In examining the fundamental aspects of the soul's life, the text posits that the various sciences either converge towards a unified point, making philosophy unnecessary, or fail to do so, rendering it impossible. If the principles of different disciplines arise from their own foundations, they will naturally draw their own conclusions without external interference. Conversely, if this is not the case, philosophy would be limited to exploring mere possibilities. While comparing and elaborating on these possibilities can be valuable, achieving any goal requires identifying some that are grounded in facts and needs, which are inherently tied to specific disciplines. Thus, it is evident that these possibilities should be entrusted to the respective sciences. This, however, presupposes that disciplines are willing to engage in higher-level thinking and adopt a philosophical approach. Human understanding cannot forgo the synthesis of acquired knowledge into a coherent whole, necessitating a group dedicated to this task. Yet, such synthesis cannot claim to be a distinct science unless it contributes new insights from its own domain, requiring it to align with the individual sciences.
