As is the case with previous editions, the aim is to track recent advances in physiology. Featured in this annual are two special articles--one on G protein effector mechanisms, edited by James B. Hurley, and one on transportopathies, edited by Gerhard Giebisch. Other topics include endocrinology, comparative physiology, neurophysiology, cardiovascular physiology, and physiologies renal and electrolytic, gastrointestinal, and respiratory.
