Shaven nudists

Nagel's second volume of photographs captures portraits of nudists who prefer the aesthetic of smooth, hairless pubes. What does it mean when a person removes his or her pubic hair? Nowadays it's not only women, but also an ever larger number of men who are opting to shorten or even entirely shave off their pubic hair. The 'bottomless' trend is in full swing. For naturists, shaving should be understood as a self-confident expression of their joie de vivre because they expose their hairless genitals openly, unashamedly, and without ulterior motives.
