The 2009 edition of the 'A to Z Guide to Santorini' is a complete and comprehensive guide to the Aegean island of Santorini. The book covers in depth the history and myths of the island including Atlantis, the history of the volcano, the archaeological sites of Akrotiri and Thera, what to see, car hire and public transport, where to go, what to do, eating out, the best beaches, shopping, travel information, maps, organising a wedding on the island and a host of tips and hints for the holidaymaker and traveler. The author, Tony Oswin, is an ex-pat from the UK, now living on the Greek island of Thassos. He realised the need for such a book on his numerous visits to the Greek islands, during which he always found it difficult acquiring information locally. The book is therefore aimed at helping the visitor save time and money, both prior to and during their visit and to get the most out of their stay on this dramatic and beautiful island. Other Greek islands covered in the 'A to Z Guide' series are Thassos and Kos.
