Focusing on the Batwa people in Southwestern Uganda, the book examines the gendered effects of landlessness on indigenous communities. It explores the historical context of land rights in Uganda, from pre-colonial times to the present, and identifies the gaps in the protection and implementation of these rights. Centering on the unique cultural and gender challenges faced by Batwa women, the study employs indigenous research methodologies and theories of Intersectionality and Indigenous Feminism to analyze the complexities of landlessness and its impact on their lives.
