A dysfunctional book club must unite when one of their members goes missing in this engaging mystery. The five members of the St. Tredock Book Club clash over everything, from their reading selections to the snacks they enjoy. However, when one member vanishes and a dead body is found at his home, they must set aside their differences to unravel the mystery. Recently relocated to Cornwall, Nova Davies established the book club to impress her new colleagues at the community center, but it has turned into a fiasco. Compounding her troubles, six thousand pounds is stolen from the center during a meeting, jeopardizing her job and the institution itself. Suspicion for the theft quickly falls on Michael, a fellow member, especially after the body is discovered at his residence and he goes missing. While the police assume he has fled, the other members have their own theories. Agatha Christie enthusiast Phyllis is convinced he’s both a murderer and a thief, while secret romance reader Arthur suspects he has eloped. Meanwhile, teenage sci-fi fan Ash believes dark forces are involved. As they search for Michael and the missing money, each member harbors secrets of their own. Inspired by their favorite fictional detectives, they are determined to solve the case and ensure everyone returns home safely.
