The monograph devoted to one of the most accomplished artists of the 17th century, the graphic artist and draughtsman Wenceslaus Hollar, focuses exclusively on his drawing oeuvre. The book contains Hollar?s biography with new information on his life, a chapter on the collecting of his drawings over the centuries to the present, and an analysis of Hollar?s art of drawing. This section of the book is followed by a catalogue raisonné of his drawings that are housed in many public and private collections around the world.
