The bio-invasion cannot be stopped. The Chtorran bio-invasion has already contaminated large parts of North America. The enormous red worms appear in hundreds and devour everything in their path. Chtorran plants and bacteria render entire states uninhabitable. The population, already decimated by previous plagues, retreats to the coastal regions.
