Following the entry into force of the Treaty of Amsterdam and its revisions of the European Community and Union Treatise, the primary material in this edition has been revised. Additions are mainly in the area of social policy with the directives on parental leave, burden of proof in sex discrimination cases, European works councils and part-time workers, as well as the directive on collective redundancies and the amending directive on transfers of undertakings.
