From Foreword - Every region has its favorite artist. For many Alaskans, that artist is Sydney Laurence. This catalogue of his paintings commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the artists death. The purpose is to bring public attention to his achievement as a painter and explore his role in the development of American art during the first half of the twentieth century.
