Skiing has incurred promotionally effective liaisons with designers and artists since its beginning, as this books demonstrates with many examples. Selected sports competitions are shown in connection with their advertising materials since the beginning of the 20th Posters, book jackets, flyers, medals and buttons are a few examples. In addition to these objects - designed by James Rizzi, Wolfgang Mattheuer, Walter Trier and Herbert Bayer from The Bauhaus, this book also introduces the new architectural designs of the jumps in Innsbruck and Garmisch Partenkirchen.
