Born in Trabzon in 1956, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın completed his education in Trabzon, Cairo, and Ankara, specializing in Arabic Language and Literature. Since 1975, he has held various national and international roles, starting with the Turkish Armed Forces. He became an academic member of Istanbul University and founded BIL Holding, along with 14 other enterprises, including BIL Educational Institutions, which operates 150 schools. In 2003, he established Istanbul Aydin University, Turkey's largest foundation university, which boasts 40,000 students, 35 research centers, two think tanks, and strong laboratory infrastructures. Aydın also created IAU Incubation Centers in locations such as Cyprus, England, Baku, Tehran, Beijing, Chicago, and Silicon Valley. He introduced the concept of education diplomacy to Turkey and launched the 'Study in Turkey' brand in 2010. His 'Hybrid Model Higher Education System' has been recognized as a model for future education by the European University Association. Aydın has received four honorary doctorates and a 'State Order' from Moldova, along with numerous national and international awards, including the 'Islamic World's Bests of the Year - Educator of the Year Award.' He speaks two foreign languages, has published thirteen works, and remains active in higher education and civil society. He is married and has three children.
