En savoir plus sur le livre

The events of February 1948 became a triumphal culmination of the Communists efforts to control Czechoslovakia which had taken them several years and it also became a milestone in the political-social direction of its society eastwards, particularly towards the Soviet Union. In fact, it meant the beginning of human rights repression, mainly of the “class enemies" and “minions of capitalism and imperialism". The persecution of unwanted people broke out at this time and it was followed by the making of specific laws reinforcing the power of the Communist party and their members and the establishment of a unified population in a state according to the Soviet example. The Communists used a number of methods for the realisation of their ambitions and culture was an integral part of it. It was accompanied by propaganda of different forms. Socialist realism met the requirements as closely as possible such as defining an "artistic" form of the new political power. The monograph Propaganda The Instrument of The Communist Regime in Czechoslovakia 1948-1953 features these ways that assisted the Czechoslovak Communist in managing the consolidation of the power they had seized.
