Igor Fostenko survived a childhood of poverty, loss, homelessness, and personal battles. Yet, ultimately these trials transformed into stepping stones. For four years following his mother's death, Igor survived in a basement, and spent winter nights in subway stations. He became friends with other runaways, hustling for survival. His earnings bought sustenance, but also a dangerous addiction to glue. At fifteen, Igor met a mentor, who took him in and gave him training and a new value system. Igor married Maryna, and they dreamed of starting a family business, constantly brainstorming new ideas. In 2014 in the heart of Ukraine, the Enjoy the Wood Company came into being. In 2016, Igor had the idea to create a wooden world map for his office wall, and the rest is history.
