Tomas Saraceno: Particular Matter(s)
Ausst. Kat. The Shed, New York
For more than a decade, Saraceno has been imagining a world free from borders and fossil fuels. In this age of climate emergency, his work has focused on a new era of our Earth that emphasizes the atmosphere, called the Aerocene. In keeping with Saraceno's own concerns with reducing human impact on the environment, the book will be printed in part on wastepaper salvaged from other print jobs by Italian printing atelier Musumeci, in an effort to reduce the waste associated with the book's production.
Pan Daijing devises performances and exhibitions as Gesamtkunstwerke, total works of art in which architectural intervention, light, sound, and movement interact to tell stories that go beyond language. Her haunting compositions for voice and electronic instruments combine opera and noise music. Mute-in which the artist and composer examines silence and liveness-is Pan's biggest solo exhibition to date. This monograph is published in conjunction with the exhibition and in collaboration with Tai Kwun Contemporary is the first comprehensive presentation of Pan's work in the dynamic zone straddling music and visual art. Pan Daijing, b. 1991 in Guiyang, China, lives as an artist and composer in Berlin. She is one of the winners of the prestigious Preis der Nationalgalerie 2024. Sarah Johanna Theurer, b. 1988, is a curator, whose focus is on time-based arts and techno-social entanglements. She is currently working in the Haus der Kunst in Munich.

Spanish architects José Selgas and Lucía Cano have created the 15th Serpentine Pavilion in London – a 'chrysalis-like' structure made from colourful see-through plastic. The temporary pavilion is envisioned as a series of connected spaces of different shapes and sizes, made from a double-layer shell of opaque and transparent fluorine-plastic fabric in an array of colours. This catalogue widely displays the amazing architecture with full-page illustrations on different paper as well as sketches, drawings and diagrams. A second part is included in a z-binding format features the construction methods from model to actual pavilion.
