Jeremy Tankard puise son inspiration dans l'observation et l'écoute constantes, utilisant souvent un carnet de croquis pour la création de personnages. Son enfance, marquée par de fréquents déménagements et entourée de bibliothèques et des récits de son père, l'a naturellement conduit dans le monde des narrations. Tankard a commencé à écrire et à illustrer dès son plus jeune âge, ses premières œuvres se caractérisant par la simplicité et l'humour. Après avoir étudié l'illustration et la gravure, il s'est lancé dans une carrière d'illustrateur commercial avant de revenir à sa véritable passion : la narration.
