On peut avoir un caractère de chien, un sens de la répartie assassin, mais rester, même malgré soi, un mec bien. Hugh Laurie, formidable interprète du Dr. House, a largement su le prouver sur le petit écran, il récidive avec ce thriller palpitant dont le héros, Thomas Lang est un ancien militaire d'élite qui, hormis sa Kawasaki ZZR1100, n'a pas grand chose à perdre. Aussi, lorsqu'on lui propose 100 000 dollars pour tuer Mr. Woolf, un riche homme d'affaire londonien, Thomas ne se contente pas de refuser poliment, mais pousse l'indécence jusqu'à essayer de prévenir la future victime du complot qui se trame contre lui. Une bonne intention ? L'enfer en est pavé. On retrouve dans ce thriller aussi prenant qu'un livre de Robert Ludlum, aussi décapant qu'un épisode de Dr. House, le mauvais esprit salvateur de Hugh Laurie, au service d'une intrigue passionnante et d'un personnage qu'on n'oubliera pas de sitôt.
