    Vivian Barz a grandi dans une ferme d'une petite ville du nord de la Californie, où son imagination a pu s'épanouir et elle a commencé à écrire des mystères dès son plus jeune âge. Une de ses premières œuvres, une histoire sur un épouvantail magique qui aimait le sang des enfants, a été lue à sa classe de troisième. Elle a ensuite étudié l'anglais et les études cinématographiques et médiatiques. Elle vit actuellement à Los Angeles, où elle travaille constamment à ses scénarios et romans. Barz écrit également sous le pseudonyme de Sloan Archer.
