Když už je děditství po skonu tetičky na dosah, objeví se další komplikace s dědickým řízením a na scénu vstupuje advokát Capper, který mu má děditství vyřídit. K tomu mu má pomoci ukradený utopený had a zapomenuté klíče.

Byla tu nějaká mezera v řetězu Frenchových úvah? A jestliže ano, jaká a kde? Detektivní román vyšší úrovně, který potěší každého sečtělého čtenáře. Kniha je z období před invazí němců na Anglii, kdy se válečná mašinérie odehrávala v severní Africe.
