Publikace se zabývá výzkumem šibenic v Jihomoravském kraji. Dosavadní výzkum přinesl poznatky o podobě šibenic, jejich datování, situaci v terénu a také o delikventech, kteří byli na šibenici popraveni a jejichž pozůstatky se u šibenic nacházejí. Předložená publikace je souhrnem dosavadních poznatků o jihomoravských šibenicích v časném novověku z hlediska historie, historie práva, archeologie, antropologie, botaniky, zoologie a geomorfologie.
