Bir kısım insanlar dine inandıkları ve neredeyse hemen her gün Kuran'ı okudukları halde Kuran'da yer alan ayetlerin bazılarını rahatlıkla gözardı edebilmektedirler. Kimileri bu hataya bilinçsizce düşerken, kimileri de Kuran'da yer alan bu hükümleri, kendi ürettikleri Kuran dışı bir mantığın etkisiyle önemsememektedirler. Tüm bunları yaparken Kuran hükümlerini bile bile gözardı etmenin Allah Katında kendilerine nasıl bir sorumluluk yükleyeceğini ve kendilerini Allah'ın rızasından nasıl uzaklaştıracağını ise hiç düşünmemektedirler. Oysa, Kuran ayetlerinde Allah'ın hükümlerini dikkate almayan kimselerin ahirette şiddetli bir azapla karşılaşabilecekleri hatırlatılmaktadır. Bu zihniyete sahip olan kimseler Kuran dışı bir mantığa dayanarak, Allah'ın hükümleri arasında kendilerince bir önem ve öncelik sıralaması yapmışlardır. Hatta kimi hükümleri de tamamen hayatlarından çıkararak bir kenara bırakmışlardır. Bu çarpık din anlayışı, yüzyılların birikimi olan bir gelenekler dizisi şeklinde, nesilden nesile aktarılarak günümüze dek ulaşmıştır. Bu kitabın amacı, toplumun genelinde sıkça gözardı edilen Kuran hükümlerinden bir bölümünü ele almak ve böylece tüm inananları Kuran'ı tüm ayetleriyle yaşamaya ve ayetlerde bahsedilen zorlu bir azaptan sakınmaya davet etmektir.
