Sehr spannend wird der bedrohliche (und krankhafte) Prozeß erzählt, der den Leser wie in einem Sog in das (irre) Innere es jungen Mannes hineinzieht. Berücksichtigt man das Ende, spricht vieles für eine psychotische Erkrankung. Es wäre notwendig gewesen, dies in einem Nachwort klarzustellen.
