No Fist Is Big Enough to Hide the Sky stands as a key text in the history of the eleven-year struggle against Portuguese rule in Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde. Historie Afriky od 16. stol., kdy se stal tento světadíl trhem na otroky, je zachycena v poutavé knize anglického žurnalisty. Autor sleduje vývoj africkoevropských obchodních vztahů od r. 1450 do r. 1850 a ukazuje, jak vážné hospodářské ochromení znamenal pro Afriku vývoz černých pracovních sil, který po objevení Ameriky prudce stoupal a dosáhl v 1. pol. 19. stol. počtu více nez 50 miliónů.
