Fürst Carl Philipp zu Schwarzenberg (1771 - 1820) war ein österreichischer Feldmarschall und Botschafter in Paris und der Oberbefehlshaber der verbündeten Streitkräfte gegen Napoleon in der Völkerschlacht bei Leipzig 1813. Der Diplomat Anton Prokesch von Osten präsentiert in vorliegendem Werk eine lebendige Schilderung von Fürst Schwarzenbergs Leben und Handeln. Nachdruck der überarbeiteten Ausgabe aus dem Jahr 1861.
