This book is an English translation of the Norwegian memoirs of Herman Sachnowitz of Larvik, Norway, Auschwitz prisoner #79235. Out of the 780 Norwegian Jews imprisoned in Auschwitz, only 9, including Sachnowitz, returned home alive.
