John Lleighton Livres
John Leighton fut un artiste anglais célébré pour ses illustrations et ses créations de couvertures de livres. Son talent pour le design s'exprima précocement dans "Suggestions in Design..." (1852), une œuvre qui exposait ses convictions concernant l'histoire du design. Leighton fut également parmi les premiers à étudier les ex-libris et à encourager leur collection, contribuant à la création d'une Société d'Ex Libris dont il fut le Vice-Président. Sa production artistique s'appuyait fortement sur des motifs décoratifs historiques, appliqués à plusieurs reprises dans des illustrations de livres et des centaines de couvertures de livres.
