At the center of the story is Toby O'Dare, known as Lucky the Fox, a notorious contract killer living under various aliases. Once a man of promise, he now exists as a soulless figure, taking orders from a mysterious figure referred to as 'The Right Man.' Transported back to thirteenth-century England, Lucky enters a perilous world where Jews, despised and accused of heinous crimes, live under constant threat. As he navigates this treacherous landscape, his journey unfolds from medieval villages to the cities of London and Paris, evolving into a tale of danger, loyalty, betrayal, selflessness, and love.
