What has made the world as we know it? What is the crucial invention of the 20th century? The computer, air travel, the telephone, or the Internet? Or would it be the razor blade, the battery, the ballpoint pen or the brassiere? These trivial things, which we take for granted, have changed our lives beyond recognition. And yet until they were there, we never knew how necessary they could be. This is a celebration of these unsung heroes, and an examination of our life and times.
