En savoir plus sur le livre

Dag Hammarskjöld, the Secretary General of the United Nations, was a Swedish politician, a moral philosopher and an idealist. He had a vision for a new world, more peaceful and equitable, and he was fighting to bring it into being. But on 18th September 1961, as he raced to broker a cease-fire between UN troops and Moise Tshombe's Katangese fighters, his plane crashed in the forests of present day Zambia. He was killed instantly. Posthumously awarded a Nobel Peace Prize, investigators at the time ruled that the man JFK called "the greatest statesman of the 20th century" had died in a tragic accident. But had he? Whispers of a cover up have forever dogged the incident. An ace of spades was said to be found at the crash site. The chassis of the plane was said to be riddled with bullets. And whispers in the corridors of power have long suggested foul play. But if somebody killed Hammarskjöld, who was it, and why? The mining corporations of France? British Intelligence? A rogue player from the CIA? Find out when Ravi Somaiya blows this classic cold case blown wide-open by uncovering new, never before-seen evidence, the result of which will have world-changing ramifications for the nations, businesses and individuals involved
