En savoir plus sur le livre

In this sweeping adventure, the first volume of the Runestone Saga unfolds against a backdrop of Norse mythology. Following Ragnarok, the human realm of the Midlands has become perilous and devoid of magic, leaving most in despair. Sixteen-year-old Eiric Halvorsen is relatively fortunate, balancing fishing, vikingr, and farm work with his family. However, his life takes a dire turn when he is falsely accused of murdering his mother and stepfather, putting both him and his half-sister Liv—whose interest in seidr, or magic, draws suspicion—at risk. A powerful jarl offers to pay Eiric's blood price if he leads a mission to the Temple at the Grove, home of the wyrdspinners, the last sorcerers. Meanwhile, Reggin Eiklund, a spellsinger and runecaster, performs in alehouses under the control of her master, Asger, a fire demon. After a remarkable performance, two wyrdspinners offer her a chance to escape Asger and be trained in seidr. Eiric, Liv, and Reggin's paths converge in New Jotunheim, where the Temple at the Grove reveals a paradise powered by magic. However, beneath its beauty lies a lurking evil, and they must confront old betrayals and grudges to prevent another catastrophic war, utilizing every gift and weapon at their disposal.
