Set in a midtown Manhattan office building, the story follows engineer Arthur Chamberlain as he realizes the sun is moving backward and the structure is slipping into the past due to a geological fault. Chamberlain devises a plan to reverse the building's time-travel while managing the survival needs of its occupants. He persuades the bank's head to support his efforts, leading to organized hunting and fishing expeditions.
