En savoir plus sur le livre

In foggy San Francisco, Dr. Amy Winslow witnesses a shocking event when a jogging SFPD captain is attacked by a Bengal tiger. Despite her efforts in the ER, the captain dies, leaving his friend, Lt. Luis Ortega, grieving. The next day, while visiting a former patient, Amy discovers a hidden 1899 electrochemical laboratory in the cellar of a Victorian house. There, she encounters a wild-eyed, half-mummified man who injects himself before collapsing. After reviving him, he claims to be a Victorian master chemist and detective named Holmes, whose stories inspired Conan Doyle, albeit with a name change. Holmes, having hibernated for a century, is eager to tackle modern mysteries but struggles with the 21st century's complexities. Initially skeptical, Amy gradually realizes his story is true. As Holmes, still brash and egoistic, navigates this new world, he and Amy develop an unexpected attraction while trying to reclaim his stolen identity papers. They are drawn into a web of bizarre murders linked to the captain's death, orchestrated by a cunning descendant of Holmes’ old foe, Professor Moriarty. The narrative blends classic Holmes elements with humor and a touch of romance.
