En savoir plus sur le livre

Nicolasito Almanza, a boy from the interior of the province of Buenos Aires, arrives in La Plata with the task of photographing the main buildings and places of interest, such as the famous cathedral, the Natural Science Museum, the Faculty of Exact Sciences, and the train station. As soon as he gets off the train that brought him from Las Flores, he encounters the Lombardo family, consisting of the father, a very determined man, his two young and beautiful daughters (one blonde and one brunette), and the small child of one of them. Almost instantly, Nicolasito is seduced by each member of the Lombardo family to stay with them, who are lodging in a strange boarding house of much better quality than the one he shares with his friend Mascardi, a fellow townsman he hasn't seen in a long time and who has now become a somewhat unscrupulous policeman, suspicious of Almanza's sudden friendship with that family, whose motives he questions. Determined to fulfill his task as best as he can, despite being caught up in an endless series of interruptions that mysteriously arise from his relationship with the Lombardos and the other characters living in both boarding houses, Nicolasito explores the extraordinary city amidst a foggy and ghostly atmosphere in which both sides, the Lombardos on one hand and the other characters, compete for him.
