Swiss writer and journalist Peter Bichsel was born on March 24, 1935, in Lucerne. He published poems and stories in magazines and newspapers at an early age. His collection of stories "Eigentlich möchte Frau Blum den Milchmann kennen lernen," published in 1964, brought him recognition and several prestigious literary awards.
