A young football supporter is knocked down in a pub in Stockholm and dies. It's a seemingly meaningless attack but as detectives Paul Hjelm and Kerstin Holm begin to investigate, they realise there was something else, something even darker unfolding in the background of the pub. Meanwhile, a man is blown up in a high security prison. A massacre takes place in a dark suburb. A wealthy drug baron seems to be under attack. A high ranking police officer starts behaving strangely. There are even rumours of a forthcoming terrorist atrocity. These things are all connected - but how?
