While offering a non-historical vision of the most representative tall buildings of the 1990s, this survey focuses on the architectural challenge of making the scale of skyscrapers compatible with the traditional city, particularly in Asia. The 80 buildings are arranged alphabetically, each with a brief introductory text (in English, Italian and Dutch), plans and photographs. The selection includes iconic skyscrapers from earlier in the 20th century and projects with completion dates in the present century.

Looks at the design and construction of a selection of skyscrapers from the last decade of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century designed by leading contemporary architects.
