      Lighting engineering has developed progressively in all industrialized countries. This development has been accompanied by a growing number of publications offering a flood of information and documentation in various languages, mainly in English, German, Russian, French and Japanese, and involving a more and more extensive and specific vocabulary.This dictionary is intended to assist engineers, technicians, translators, documentalists, students and scholars in analyzing and exploiting the huge amount of literature dealing with lighting engineering. The following fields are covered: fundamentals of lighting engineering; generation of light; measurement of light, radiation and colour; lighting engineering and radiation detectors.The vocabulary used in the dictionary is based upon specialized journals, scientific monographs, papers, reference books, defining dictionaries, technical descriptions, pamphlets, guidelines and international recommendations of recent years. Standardized terms are also included.
