En savoir plus sur le livre

The town of Clydebank was formed in the late nineteenth century when J. & G. Thomson's shipyard, Clyde Bank, was forced to relocate from Govan because a new dock was being built on its old site. When the giant Singer sewing machine factory was built nearby, more workers flooded into the new town. Included in Sheila Struthers' book are views of shipbuilding on the Clyde, the Queen Mary under construction, the ferries that plied between Yoker and Renfrew, local football teams, several pictures of Dalmuir and all the important streets and sights of Clydebank itself.
