Killing the Good Girl. English language edition

En savoir plus sur le livre

Do you prefer the sparrow in your hand or the dove on the roof? In the book "Killing the Good Girl" eleven women tell authentic stories about their lives in expressively illustrated stories. They come from Afghanistan, America, the former GDR, Lebanon, Venezuela, India, England, China, Jordan, Iran and often grew up with a migration background. Despite the differences in their origin, religion and social background, their fates are frighteningly similar. Discrimination, honor killings, forced marriages, violence, oppression and abuse are the everyday life in which these women grew up. Autobiographically, they tell of their path to freedom. This path, whether it be called feminism, emancipation or me-too movement, was taken by each of them alone. Fate has now brought them together so that they can raise their voices together in this book. The fact that their experiences are not published under their real names but under pseudonyms shows the dangers that these women took on themselves to carry their words out into the world.
