She Bear Bride

Set in the summer of 1958, this coming-of-age story follows 13-year-old Beannie as she grapples with her desire to mature and her body image insecurities. Accompanied by her best friend Chick at the family cottage, they encounter Birdey, a cancer survivor, who offers them valuable insights into body image and resilience. Through their experiences, the girls confront issues of prejudice and alcoholism, ultimately learning important lessons about womanhood, self-acceptance, and the realities of breast cancer.
