The plot centers on Astalus, who has discovered a powerful Eldric spell book that includes a spell to summon dragons, as he leads an army north to confront Trosgarth's growing power. Warrior priests gain the ability to communicate on the battlefield, while a demon/dragon hybrid poses a new threat. Astalus, possessed by a demon, learns of a permanent gateway to the demon world, allowing Drachar and his minions to emerge.
