Climate Atlas of the Atlantic Ocean

This climate atlas builds on the foundational work of the Bunker Climate Atlas, enhancing the understanding of air-sea interactions through improved wind speed interpretations from merchant ships. Recent advancements in data processing and access to individual ship observations from the Comprehensive Ocean Atmosphere Data Set (COADS) enable more accurate calculations of air-sea fluxes. The atlas expands its focus to include the South Atlantic, providing insights into energy fluxes and revealing significant features of the southern hemisphere's climate dynamics.
