The book examines funerary practices in ancient Egypt, focusing on the analysis of coffins and funerary equipment from the Nineteenth to the Twenty-second Dynasties. It highlights the social strategies and adaptations during the Bronze Age collapse and Iron Age reconsolidation, revealing evidence of coffin reuse and changes in burial practices. Innovative coffin designs and mummification techniques reflect societal anxieties and evolving religious beliefs. The work combines theoretical insights with a visual catalog of approximately one hundred annotated Egyptian coffins, primarily from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
