Focusing on the theme of hearing and its significance, this book showcases portraits of over 120 celebrity ambassadors supporting the Hear the World foundation, which aids children with hearing loss in low- and middle-income countries. Captured by musician and photographer Bryan Adams, the portraits feature icons from film, music, and fashion, each striking a unique pose symbolizing conscious listening. Through their involvement, these celebrities advocate for children's access to sound and the appreciation of hearing as a vital sense.

Six years ago Bryan Adams was approached by Trudie Styler to photograph a portrait story of homeless street vendors for The Big Issue magazine. That story inspired a more in-depth photographic look at these people who live on the streets of London and sell the magazine. The Big Issue is a weekly publication created by professional journalists and photographers, and sold on the streets to provide the homeless with legitimate income and facilitate their reintegration into mainstream society. Today The Big Issue is published in several international editions throughout Asia and Africa. Adams’ portraits are direct, compassionate and full of dignity. They depict character beyond social and economic circumstance, and can be seen as a continuation of Adams’ 2013 Wounded: The Legacy of War, his portraits of young British soldiers who suffered life-changing injuries during combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Is it skin, the surface of the moon, aerial photographs of forests or barren earth? Is it the night sky or the galaxies above our heads? Are these abstract images of the atmosphere, or simply what is beneath our feet and we just need to stop to notice it? These are all possibilities when looking at this new series of photos by Bryan Adams. All of these photographs were taken during the first weeks of 2015, while visiting the island of Mustique in the Grenadine Islands, West Indies. Adams noticed abstract black-andwhite patterns around him and photographed these formations over a few days. When showing the photos to others, most thought it was perhaps the night sky. This uncanny resemblance between the earth and the sky was the inspiration for this book. Following his two volumes of portraiture, Exposed (Steidl, 2012) and Wounded (Steidl, 2013), Untitled is a large-format book featuring Adams's abstract graphic images along with an introduction on abstraction by architect John Pawson on the the earth's incredible beauty.
Wounded.
In the late nineties Bryan Adams became curious about making photographic self-portraits for his album covers, and so chose to pick up the camera himself. That serendipitous decision was the beginning of a successful photographic career, parallel to Adams’ impressive achievements as a singer, songwriter and producer. Exposed is a retrospective of Adams’ photography and features portraits of friends and colleagues in the entertainment, fashion and art industries, including Morrissey, Ben Kingsley, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, Louise Bourgeois, Lindsay Lohan and Judi Dench. This book, Adams’ first comprehensive monograph, “exposes” not only unknown facets of his subjects but also the depth of Adams’ photographic faculty. Bryan Adams, born in 1959 in Ontario, divides his time between music and photography. Adams has photographed for magazines including Interview, i-D, Harper’s Bazaar, and British and German Vogue. In 2003 he founded Zoo Magazine for which he has received a Goldene Feder Award. In 2006 Adams was honoured with a German Lead Award for his series of photographs of Mickey Rourke. Adams’ photographic exhibitions include those held at the Saatchi Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery in London, and the Haus der Kunst in Munich.
Athough most well-known around the globe for his musical works, Ryan Adams is also a talented fiction writer and poet. Here, for the first time, his non-musical writing is revealed. Adams's work rings of an emotional authenticity that provides perhaps an even deeper insight into the man than the songs that have resonated with his hundreds of thousands of fans the world over.
Gerbil, age zero, has a question: where do parents come from? Specifically, she wants to know about her mother. Who is this vessel in which she resides, and why does it seem like her mother isn't up for the task of parenthood? Gerbil Mother raises questions about the condition, execution, and absurdities of motherhood. It is a new look at the family dynamic through the eyes of the unborn, a baby on the brink of being thrust into a life she would rather witness from the outside - or from the inside her mother's womb.
A personal look at the world of a rock and roll songwriter, recording artist, and performer who has become one of the world's international stars, this biography takes readers behind the scenes with Adams to experience his world, telling how he creates his music, works with other great musicians, and of his involvement in environmental movements. A portion of sales to benefit the Whale Sanctuary. Over 150 photos.
