Waldemar Bonsels (1880-1952) was a German writer known for his travels as a young tramp. He settled in Ambach in 1919 and wrote in a neo-romantic style. His works include "Die Biene Maja" and the autobiographical trilogy "Notizen eines Vagabunden," which reflects his cultural and philosophical views, later victim to Nazi book burnings.
