The Workshop on Emerging Web Services Technology (WEWST06) took place in conjunction with the 4th European Conference on Web Services (ECOWS’06) on 4th December 2006, in Zurich, Switzerland. Acting as the natural extension to the main ECOWS conference, the main goal of the WEWST workshop is serving as a forum for providing early exposure andmuchneededfeedbacktogrowandestablishoriginalandemergingideaswithin the Web Services community. This book serves as a starting point for people looking for a deeper principled understanding of REST, its applications, its limitations, and current research work in the area and as an architectural style. The authors focus on applying REST beyond Web applications (i.e., in enterprise environments), and in reusing established and well-understood design patterns. The book examines how RESTful systems can be designed and deployed, and what the results are in terms of benefits and challenges encountered in the process. This book is intended for information and service architects and designers who are interested in learning about REST, how it is applied, and how it is being advanced.

This book constitutes the refereed thoroughly refereed post-workshop proceedings of the 18 th International Conference on Web Engineering, ICWE 2018, held in Cáceres, Spain, in June 2018. The 18 revised full papers were selected from 40 submissions. The workshops complement the main conference and explore new trends on core topics of Web engineering and provide an open discussion space combining solid theory work with practical on-the-field experience. The workshop committee accepted five workshops for publication in this volume: First International Workshop on Maturity of Web Engineering Practices (MATWEP 2018), Second International Workshop on Engineering theWeb of Things (EnWoT 2018), Fourth International Workshop on Knowledge Discovery on the Web (KDWEB 2018), International Workshop on Engineering Open Data (WEOD 2018), First International Workshop on Knowledge Graphs on Travel and Tourism (TourismKG 2018).

The International Symposia on Software Composition aims to enhance research in component-based software development, addressing challenges in component development, reuse, verification, and composition. As software engineering evolves towards the reuse and recombination of components, the 2008 edition invited researchers to contribute on topics such as component adaptation techniques, composition languages, calculi, type systems, and emerging methods like aspect-oriented programming, service-oriented architectures, and mashups. Contributions were sought that bridge theory and practice, reflecting the symposium's ongoing commitment to both aspects. This volume contains the proceedings from the 7th International Symposium on Software Composition, held on March 29–30, 2008, in Budapest, Hungary, as part of the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software (ETAPS). The symposium received 90 initial submissions globally, with 70 evaluated by a Program Committee of 30 international experts. Ultimately, 13 long papers and 6 short papers were selected for inclusion, each undergoing a rigorous revision process with three to five reviewers, ensuring high-quality publications for the event—a first in the symposium's history.
